More cuts

These are some more of the drawings slated for REJECTS, but for one reason or another, didn't make the cut.

  2. Hey Joe

Just wondering, is your book going to have any caricature instruction, or just your own caricature rejects?

  3. Dan-

REJECTS will have a short "process" section, where you see the steps I take, as in the videos (to the right, on this blog). It's an instructional book from the important angle of inspiration, however it is not a how-to book, but in my eyes, just as or MORE valuable!

  5. Did that last one really get rejected? They should have bought it just for the sunburns.

  6. These three drawings were purchased. The british couple laughed, but seemed unsatisfied... the next couple was nice, but acted pissed after they saw it and almost rejected it, and the family loved the group caricature.

  9. I love the group caricature. Next friday I will have to do a group-caricature of 25 people, and I always find it very difficult to get the composition right. Sometimes there isn't enough room for the last one:-(
    Any tips ?

  11. I feel its difficult to exaggerate a face the way I want to in group sketches.how do you compose group caricatures? Do presketch all of them all at once for composition or one at a time? Have you ever not presketched a group caricature and have turn out just as awesome as this one? I ask because the detail in this one is incredible.
