Great Art Director. There's a lot to be said about that.
For this illustration, I used Prismacolor Art Markers and Prismacolor colored pencils (both by Sanford) on pastel paper. I used the less textured side of the paper, so I have a bit smoother surface to work on, only because I was working at print-size, which I normally don't do. The background is done with acrylic paint.

That looks awesome, Joe. The cover as a whole looks really good!
I'm admirer oy your work. This illustration is fantastic.
dude,
This is fantastic.
cool! that's a great illustration of jeff... and beautiful use of the colored pencils.
Congrats on a not only a great caricature but a great cover!
The likeness of Jeff Bridges is so spot on Joe!
Always amazes me how you create masterpieces using different mediums.
You have Bridges with that famous sheepish grin you captured so perfectly.
When you use reference photos you can either capture him with an open mouth smile or closed mouth smile...great call here.
While I appreciate the new Hi Tech digital illustration (you're a genius at it) I like seeing "old school" mediums used.
I see photoshop used so much these days that the effects that once used to be cool are boring to me.
Wow. What a great look. This is my favorite cover you've done yet.
this is great work man. Great job on capturing that strong sense of ambient lighting too.

Fantastic piece...like to get my hands on a copy in NJ...Barnes & Noble? or maybe Newark Airport?
whoa this is slick. I am very impressed that you absolutely control whatever medium you touch. This is a fine piece.
Thanks all.

Vin, not sure if you can get it anywhere but Los Angeles. I'm hoping he'll mail ME one.

GREAT job Joe, as usual!!
I think this is one of your best pieces. This is well animated even though one might consider it a "still" pose.
